Pairing Your Mercedes-Benz Digital Vehicle Key using the MercedesMe Connect App

With Mercedes-Benz Digital Vehicle Key, users can unlock, lock, and drive their Mercedes-Benz simply with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch. Owners are able to share their digital key with up to 32 devices. In doing so, the main owner of the MercedesMe Connect account can assign different access for each shared device.

Once the customer activates Digital Vehicle Key function within their Mercedes me Connect App, instructions to begin setup of pairing to their vehicle will appear on iPhone. With the vehicle switched on and NFC activated in the system settings of the head unit, iPhone will need to be placed on the NFC charging pad to pair Digital Vehicle Key to the Apple Wallet. Adequate cell signal coverage and Bluetooth® connection is required to complete the pairing process.

Customers with Apple iPhone 11 and newer with iOS 16.4 and Apple Watch Series 6 and newer will be eligible to utilize Mercedes-Benz’s latest technological enhancement. Mercedes-Benz Digital Vehicle Key will initially be offered for the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and the E-Class Sedan.

Activating your Digital Vehicle Key using your MercedesMe App

1. Select “Digital Vehicle Key” Icon
2. Select “Set Up Owner Key”
3. You will be taken over to the Apple Wallet where you will select “Continue” and place your mobile device on your NFC charging pad in your vehicle
4. When the pairing is complete select “Done”
5. Your Digital Key is now added to your Apple wallet

Sharing Your Digital Vehicle Key

Once your Digital Vehicle Key is added to your Apple Wallet, you will be able to share your Digital Key via Apple AirDrop. You will then need to provide your secondary user with an activation code.

You are also able to activate additional users through the Headunit un your vehicle

1. Select “Settings” –> “Vehicle” –> “Open/Close” –> “Digital Vehicle Key”
2. After selecting “Digital Vehicle Key”, you will then see the option to view Owner and Participant key information and the ability to remove All Digital Vehicle Keys
