Certified Pre-Owned: what’s covered and how a car qualifies
A Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicle keeps the rest of its 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty, then gets a Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty for another 12 months with unlimited miles. You can add a Certified Pre-Owned Extended Limited Warranty for one or two more years, also with unlimited miles. Coverage is backed by Mercedes-Benz USA, so any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer in the country honors it.
To be certified, a Mercedes-Benz must be six model years old or newer with fewer than 75,000 miles, have been serviced on schedule, include a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report, and pass a 165-plus-point inspection by our technicians (electric models use a different inspection). Every Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz also includes:
- Roadside Assistance at no charge: a jump-start, a tire change or fuel if you run out.
- Trip interruption: if you break down more than 100 miles from home, Mercedes-Benz reimburses travel expenses up to $300 a day for three days. That covers a breakdown on the way to Flagstaff or San Diego.
- 7 days to exchange: exchange it for another vehicle within the first seven days or 500 miles.
